Well, I just ate a potato roll with some salami and lettuce. And I drank a Fat Tire ale - it was very tasty. I am re-assembling my t.v. stand from Ikea and was lonely for human voices, so turned on the television. Anne of Green Gables is on PBS! Oh, I haven't seen that for ages, even though I have the film and its sequel on video.

I remember when I used to spend weeks on end reading L.M. Montgomery's novels. All of them - I read all of them, several times. And the short stories, which were quite redundant. Emily of New Moon, Sara Stanley, and the others ... but Anne was always my favorite.

That seems like such a different time. I used to want to be just like them, but now ... I feel so far removed from that dream of myself. I don't know what my dream is now. The reality of day-to-day life, politics and friends seem to be pushing me in another direction. I'm not sure if it's for better or worse.

It's suddenly occurred to me that there are many films I wish to see:

In America - it has Djimon Honsou, you know
Cold Mountain - it's getting mixed reviews, but it has Natalie Portman; I only got through about 1/4 of the book some months ago. Maybe I'll finish reading it first
House of Sand and Fog - I still find it hard to believe this "thriller" is about a woman who wants her house back, but it's getting good reviews ...
The Company - A dance movie by Robert Altman
Monster - getting a lot of "buzz" and I am only recently appreciating Charlize Theron
Lost in Translation - I really need to get a move on with this one - it's been out for ages
Kill Bill Volume I - I keep hearing it's a masterpiece, but I'm not a big Tarantino fan; must judge for myself
The Barbarian Invasions - a new film by Denys Arcand; it sounds interesting

But tomorrow if I go to the movies it will be to see the new Julia Roberts film, Mona Lisa Smile with Sabby and Amy. It sounds predictable, but I like Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst a lot.

Oh, there are so many books I want to read. I've got to get my place put together so I can get to some good winter reading.
